Location: Grant`s HQ at City Point
Details: On March 24, 1865 President Lincoln, on board the Riverboat Riverqueen, landed at City Point, Virginia (present-day Hopewell) and would spend two of the last three weeks of his life there. In recognition of the anniversary of his visit, a recreation of the President`s historic meeting with General Grant will occur at the Grant`s Headquarters Unit of Petersburg National Battlefield. Special talks will occur throughout the day and will also include a woman`s perspective from Mrs. Julia Grant.
